THIS is What a Dream Looks Like: Chanel Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2013 (Part 1)

Hey, there! How are you doing today?

Me? Amazingly, thank you.

So, we started this week with Haute Couture make up and I thought we might as well keep the high standards ; )

I’m a huge fan of Chanel and Lagerfeld himself, that’s why it’s no surprise I’m starting the posts about Spring-Summer 2013 Haute Couture with this collection. I loved it and I’m sure you will too, want to know why? Because it makes me feel as if I was contemplating a dream: white, black, and elegance. What else do you want?

Lets cut the speech and go to what interests us the most: The Top 3-

1) Look A. Perfection. That’s what this is. Perfection. The colour is dark; we wouldn’t expect it for Summer-Spring, especially when the garment looks like something you might wear at an informal brunch, but it works great if you want to make a difference and stand out. Obviously, the purpose of Karl Lagerfeld.

The skirt of the dress isn’t very short, but you see, the piece looks longer because of the cuts: one in the waist and another one just at the end of the hips. The cut on the waist is marked by a thin black belt that makes us look slimmer; and see how the brooch of the belt aligns perfectly with the vertical half of the dress (which is reinforced by the marks of the seams)? It makes us look lean as well.

The details on the shoulders make our ribcage look bigger and our arms look thinner. The cleavage (long but quite closed) gives the illusion of a longer neck.

The fall of the fabric on the bottom part of the skirt is playful and innocent (like the whole thing. Creepy innocence, anyway, but interesting like hell).

The boots (stockings?) are the final stroke. They’re like nature embracing our legs. Amazing.

Hey, crazy diamonds! That was it for today! Did you like it? I hope so! Keep on shinning all over and dreaming on. Sounds like a plan?

Take Care. Lotta Love. Ciao!

P.S. Don’t miss the second part tomorrow! : D
