Pollock Would Be Proud – CÉLINE Prêt-à-porter SS14 Collection

Hi, hi!

How have you been lately, huh?!

I know, I know… it’s been a while. However, I’m back ; )

So tell me, what have you been up to? Have you checked out the new collections presented during NY Fashion Week? What about Paris’?

Speaking of Paris’, Céline’s latest collection amazed me. Walking around covered in modern art is definitely a dream come true, isn’t it?

The collection summarises itself like this:

  • Colour palette: Black, white, beige, primary colours and green
  • Patterns: Brush strokes
  • Key Garments: Loose skirts
  • Details: Huge collars. Highlighted collars (different colour)

Wanna see?

Enjoy! ; )

Prada’s Effortless Poise (Part 3)

Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s post presented the third and second places of Prada’s Autumn – Winter 2013/4 Ready- To- Wear Collection. Are you ready to meet the winner?

A_Prada_Autumn-Winter134_R2W

3)   Look A. Palette: Red, blue, black and golden.

  • General Description: thick vertical striped combination of pencil skirt and short-sleeved jacket. Black top underneath. Golden thick belt on top.
  • Combo: Blue and red are always an excellent choice. Why? Because they’re complimentary: water and fire, hot and cold. It’s, of course, one of my favs.
  • Pattern: As we all know, vertical lines are the best of the best for making us look thinner and taller. Exceptionally wide lines such as these.
  • Pencil Skirt: Great for delineating our body. Also, they make you appear taller. Not recommended if you’ve got a bit of tummy, though.
  • Jacket: The trick on this outfit is the way this piece is worn: open. Again, like in the previous look, showing the shoulder.
  • Belt: Marks the waist. Best idea ever. Broad belts are best because they define it more clearly.

So, crazy diamonds, do you agree with the winner?

Shine all over and dream on. It’s the best thing you can do. Always.

Take Care. Lotta Love. Ciao!

Prada’s Effortless Poise (Part 2)

Yesterday we were talking about how Prada made it easy for us to look amazing yet feeling super comfortable at the same time; the funny part? Everyone notices!

This is the 2nd place of this week’s Top 3:

B_Prada_Autumn-Winter134_R2W

2)   Look B. Palette: Black and golden.

  • General Description: high “A” cut skirt, black golden-buttoned sweater, thin golden belt.
  • Sweater: The trick here is to wear it like the model on the picture, unbuttoned at the top and showing the shoulder. Shoulders are one of our sexiest body parts. The huge button in the middle marks that precisely, the middle of the torso. This way our whole structure appears to be more symmetric.
  • Skirt: High cuts on skirts, particularly those who also happen to be “A” cuts, are perfect for making us look thinner. This one’s got an extra point, though. Why? Because of the golden detail in the middle of the garment. Divisions marked by vertical lines are excellent for giving the illusion of a taller and thinner body.
  • Golden belt: Delineates the waist with a huge deal of help of the black thick belt underneath it. Note: Due to the material of the black thick belt, you don’t have to have an extremely defined waist. They’ll do the job for you.

One of my favorite combos. Absolutely.

Well crazy diamonds, got to go! But remember: tomorrow, the first place. Shine all over and dream on, my friends! Life’s pretty great.

Prada’s Effortless Poise (Part 1)

I love it when I’m wearing something comfortable and, that still then, makes me look super elegant. These kinds of clothes are hard to find, but when you do, believe when I tell you, you shouldn’t let them go!

Most designers find hard to master the effortless poise or just, well, don’t like it. Luckily for us, some of them do think is a great alternative to the too-formal look that remain sort of prim chic and bring to us collections such as Prada’s latest Autumn – Winter 2013/4 Ready- To- Wear Collection.

Want to see a bit of it?

The third place of this week’s Top 3 goes to:

C_Prada_Autumn-Winter134_R2W

1)   Look C. Palette: Black

  •  General Description: Oversized coat with leather details, huge cuffs, high “A” cut for the skirt, and lapel collar.
  • Cuffs: Huge cuffs make our arms look slimmer and our hands appear smaller.
  • High A Cut Skirt: Cuts to the waist tend to make you look slimmer, especially if it’s an A cut. If you’re a little bit thicker, try something baggy or a bit looser on the upper part. It works better with heels.
  • Lapel Collar: Great for framing the neck and making it look longer.
  • Leather Details: Divides the piece into two with a vertical line, which automatically makes us look taller and thinner.

What do you think? Does it deserve a place in your closet next season? It does in mine!

Crazy diamonds have an excellent week! Shine all over and dream on: you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar, they say!

Take Care. Lotta Love. Ciao!

MaxMara’s Chromatic Minimalism

MaxMara’s Autumn – Winter 2013/4 Ready-To-Wear Collection is absolutely gorgeous. What I love the most about it is the simplicity of the cuts and, in a way, the chromatic minimalism it presents: no more than two colours in an outfit, almost no patterned fabrics.

Chic? Of course! Elegant? Absolutely.
